Boxing Kangaroo

The Boxing Kangaroo is a seaside restaurant operated by Bruce and Solange Heazlewood, an Australian and his Brazilian wife. The restaurant is approximately a 15 minutes stroll along the beach or road from the village center, come and enjoy the friendly atmosphere and service.

There is a large range of traditional local and international dishes to choose from, including home made soups starters and snacks. The principal dishes include fresh locally caught lobster, shrimp and fish fillets, grilled in butter and garlic, succulent Argentinian picanha (entrecôte of beef), tender file mignon, grilled just the way you like, giant spare ribs in real australian BBQ sauce. All meals are home made and freshly prepared when you place your order.

They also have local and international wines. Experiment with the fantastic Brazilian cocktails based on local fruit and cachaça (Brazilian sugar cane brandy) or vodka. A wide selection of mixed drinks is also available. After dinner you can relax on the verandah, overlooking the moonlit ocean, and take an "Irish", cappuccino, or a freshly brewed Brazilian, café with liqueur.

Saturdays and Sundays they are also open during the day, so drop by and mingle with Brazilians, as many of them enjoy their weekend on the beach. Try one of the the many special day time snacks available, especially the famous caranguejo (cooked crabs).
