The lucky visitor who has elected to stay in Cumbuco, rather than the large city of Fortaleza is quick to feel the freedom and tranquility of strolling around the small village, mingling with the locals. Seeing at first hand, and becoming part of, the way of life of the '"real" Brazil. Though there is little foreign languages spoken, the international "hand and feet" dialect is widely used, which adds to the charm of Cumbuco. At the center of the village is the praçinha (town square). Surrounding this are many shops, snack bars, restaurants, small supermarkets. |

At night the praçinha converts into a community meeting place, where the people leave their houses to enjoy the open air atmosphere, and of course to watch the nightly game of football. Often visitors are invited to participate in the game, just as during the day you can join in a friendly game of football on the beach. Be warned though : Like all Brazilians they know how to play the game of football! |
